Three words to describe yourselves:

"Whimsical, Serious, Focused, Un-stuffy, Really Excited To Get Married! To tell you a little about us:I am 28, he is 32 - we met at a summer camp for kids with terminal illnesses. I was working there as a therapist (I am getting my doctoral in clinical psychology) and he was there volunteering as a doctor (he is in his fellowship in pediatric oncology) and for me - it was love at first sight and I called my best friend and told her I met the man I was going to marry.

Fun facts: I shaved my hair off (all the way off) the night before I met him, our wedding cake is going to be a giant "cupcake" shaped cake, we're getting married at The Beach Point Club in Mamaroneck, NY (in Westchester, which is about 30 minutes outside of Manhattan), I live in NYC, Dan recently moved to Philly to work at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia so we're long-distance right now, he gets stiff in front of cameras sometimes, I dated another Dan Weiser (yes, same first and last name) right before my I started dating my fiance, Dan Weiser, so (at the beginning) Dan was always called DW#2." - Anna and Dan

Well, they didn't really stick to the 3 words... but it was very true to Anna and Dan's personalities - they are both very funny, very excited, and just can't be contained!

Mid-December, we headed back to my hometown Newport, RI for a festive pre-Christmas wedding at Astor's Beechwood Mansion with Tara and Chuck.  The couple live in New York City but liked the idea of an evening winter wedding in beautiful Newport and we fully concur with their decision...the venue and every detail of the evening was gorgeous.  The evening brought with it the first snowfall of the season so we thought we'd pop outside for a minute (or 10) and take some photos as Chuck was keen as mustard as they'd say in New Zealand. It was VERY cold even though they don't look it, so good effort you two!

were married at the beautiful Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica on a gorgeous November day. The ceremony started at 10am and the reception went into the afternoon until sunset - the perfect autumn wedding! Hardy was shooting with us (our associate photographer) - and between the 3 of us, we are delivering 2,022 photographs to Yvonne and Sam (that is a photo for every 15 seconds of the day). But it was such a beautiful day... and we just loved being a part of the whole thing, and... ok and we are a bit nuts as well.

Jen and Eric were married at Arista Winery Healdsburg, California. It reminded me so much of the beautiful venue's in New Zealand that we have shoot at with the gorgeous trees, moss covered rocks, and the casual outdoor dining. Jen and Eric are very much in love, and they day reflected that... it was just perfect.

I just have to share with you the email that we received from Chad and Dawn when they enquired.

"Three words to describe yourselves:
Form meets Function

Wedding date, location, and anything else you can tell us!:
Wedding Ceremony and Reception of
Chad Tamashiro and Dawn Williams
Regency Centers, San Francisco

Though I'm quite certain you get this a lot, we're absolutely nuts about your photographs! After wading through endless so-so sites, we were questioning whether there might be anyone out there who saw the world the way we do..  Then, by chance, a friend who attended a wedding you recently shot sent us your web link and we were blown away by your stunning composition, amazing timing and the life and energy portrayed in your photos. We would be delighted to speak with you about the possibility of you capturing our wedding and the ensuing fracas.

A little about us: We're basically playful, happy goofballs in the pursuit of laughter and great music (Chad: drummer and trombonist ; Dawn: sometime DJ, full-time music fanatic..). We love spending our free time with friends and family. Our friends are a fascinating, eclectic lot that are as fun to look at as they are to spend time with and our families are wonderful, silly folks flinging in from Oahu and the CA central valley..

A little about the rooms:  Both the ceremony and the reception are being held at the Lodge Level of the Regency, which we're crazy about, as it's just the most amazing place - full of the echoes of society parties & secret societies - it practically drips mystery..  (not to mention you get to ride the most beautiful, drenched-in-old-gold-paint elevator on the way up!)

Our dream is to do the room proud and transport our guests to the feeling of another time and place from the moment they step off the elevator . The underlying theme of the wedding is a combination of the deep colors and forms of Art Nouveau (dark peacock, etc.), the spirit and graphics of Vaudeville, the excitement of early jazz and the strange mechanical futurism of the early part of the century (ala the Zeppelin, silent movies) with a touch of the streamlined, future forward feeling of deco and a hint of the slightly seamy and mysterious side of Paris and Berlin in the 20's and 30's.  Bit of an undertaking I suppose but it keeps us interested in the planning process... And of course music plays an extremely important role.. Plans are in the works for a gypsy jazz band followed by a early blues singer combo, 20's style guest caricatures, etc.  Hopefully that description conveys most of what we're hoping with the photography, capturing that same essence via saturated color and black & white that's full of vitality and spark.

We want to throw a wedding that's visually arresting and a tiny bit exotic and a party that's incredibly entertaining and just a tiny bit mysterious.. As long as nobody goes home bored...

We'd love to share more information about us and our personalities. We'd be more than excited if you'd drop us a line."

As you can imagine, with an email like this - being as crazy about photography as we are, and keen to do new and different things... we were gutted, as we were already booked! However, our trusty associates Gen and Hardy were available and did an amazing job!!! Even though we weren't there share in the awesome day, we really felt like we were through the photos.... Go team!

Three words to describe yourselves... "we love art, laughter, and fun" - Crystal and Andrew

Crystal and Andrew referred to their ceremony as "JewBu", which we thought was hilarious and included a tea ceremony, an incense lighting, as well as breaking the glass followed by a big "Mazel Tov!". I came home and looked it up and found this definition on Urban Dictionary.

JewBu
The festivities were held at the Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel. I have to say, it was one of the most beautiful wedding venues we have ever seen. The ceremony was in the redwood grove - there is something so special about being surrounded by trees, many, more than 1000 years old. The reception was held in the old barn, with a rockin' band - Andrew's brother even jumped in for a few - the Hora, and a vintage Polaroid photo-booth - run by our very own, Hardy (post to come on that soon!)

Coordinated by the lovely: Allison Weddings

Three words to describe yourselves... "creative, open-minded and genuine"

Stephanie and Scotty were married at the beautiful Clos-Pepe Vineyard in the Santa Inez Valley. It was very special because the vineyard is owned by a close family friend. The home and the grounds are just incredibly beautiful. I have never seen a bride smile as much as Stephanie, she literally had a huge smile on her face all day - so much so that we just had to take one very serious one, of course which was followed up by a fit of giggles.

And for fellow cork dorks - we highly recommend the Clos-Pepe wine, all of which are seriously memorable and grown with love.

Panthea and Ben had a beautiful Santa Barbara wedding at Bacara Resort and Spa.  The thing I'll remember most about the day is their gigantic smiles.  The only time Ben didn't have a huge grin was when he saw Panthea coming down the aisle in her out-of-this-world wedding dress (which was really a work of art).  It was never hard capturing a moment of them looking in love - they definitely are each others best friend. And to top our day off, after our meal, we got the most amazing and tasty dessert platter I have ever seen!

Candace and Jason were married at La Valencia in La Jolla with 30 of their closest family and friends. It was so very special... but we are bit bias because intimate weddings are very near and dear to us as we were married in the same way. The reception was set around one large table and the day felt very much like close family spending time quality together. We really felt like a part of it all (Candace even told the caterers to set our dinner up in a private spot and to "make it romantic").

Three words to describe yourselves... "artsy, elegant, adventurous" - Michelle and Jeremy.

Michelle and Jeremy were married at a private estate outside Calistoga. They actually picked this particular day because it was the least likely time of the year to be raining! Because of the rain, things had to be shifted inside at the last minute, however it was no less special or beautiful. I think it made for an artsy, elegant and adventurous day after all.
