A few months ago, I asked if he still had the camera and if he was interested in selling it to me. He refused to take my money and gifted it to me. 

What a cool cat!  

You can imagine how excited I was...I immediately shot a slightly outdated roll of Fuji Velvia just to test it out and am in love all over again.  I found that it does need some lens focusing maintenance but at super deep depths of field, it produces great, sharp images. 

But we think it's pretty special...

Here are a few more from our road trip through Nevada, Utah, and Colorado last week.  Having grown up in New England, winter and snow are part of who I am - even though I moved as far away from those two aspects as I could back in 1993.  Since we've been so travel-happy the past few years - working between New Zealand and California summers - we haven't really experienced a true winter for a long time.  Being cold and snowy is so good...

Alex's first snow angel Farm dogs, Monticello, Utah.It was incredible how much snow this town had.  15 minutes earlier and there was just a few inches on the ground.  Monticello, Utah. One minute we're in the snowy desert, the next we're in bloody Las Vegas!  

Anyhow, here's a quick photo and close-up crop of the same image below. It shows the huge perfect surf at Ocean Beach in San Francisco.  We didn't get to the beach this day but got a great vantage point from this high point in the Inner Sunset district about 2 miles inland...yep, 2 miles, it's big!

Travel is such a big part of our lives - be it for work or purely to see new places or people we haven't seen in awhile - that we do it whenever we have free time.  A wedding in Colorado early in February had us driving over 2000 miles throughout the Southwest and a new baby had us driving to the far reaches of Northern California in January.  A much needed surf camping trip with the guys fell right in the middle and we'll trickle photos from all the adventures over the next week or so...

Fun facts: I shaved my hair off (all the way off) the night before I met him, our wedding cake is going to be a giant "cupcake" shaped cake, we're getting married at The Beach Point Club in Mamaroneck, NY (in Westchester, which is about 30 minutes outside of Manhattan), I live in NYC, Dan recently moved to Philly to work at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia so we're long-distance right now, he gets stiff in front of cameras sometimes, I dated another Dan Weiser (yes, same first and last name) right before my I started dating my fiance, Dan Weiser, so (at the beginning) Dan was always called DW#2." - Anna and Dan

Well, they didn't really stick to the 3 words... but it was very true to Anna and Dan's personalities - they are both very funny, very excited, and just can't be contained! 

Cameron and Avesta held their engagement party at her parents beautiful home in Beverly Hills. The night was filled with heaps of dancing, fabulous food, the craziest fruit / desert table you have ever seen, and more dancing. They started dating 8 years ago, and in Avesta's own words "it has been a honeymoon ever since". I can't wait for the wedding (and the wedding food, dancing and dessert table)! 

Inviting a 150 friends and family to your house a week before Christmas is no small task, it couldn't have been possible with out the stellar coordination by Shideh Shahraies. 

We met Jonill and Colin in New York for their engagement session - and again... a freezing cold December day! We walked around the East Village until we could not longer take the cold and then ended the session at their local dive bar for a couple of photos and warming drinks!  

Hey, that's me!

They have a very interesting and special story. When Drew and Jerry started going through the process of finding an egg donor, it became very frustrating as things started falling through. Out of the blue, Susie rang and said, of course I am donating the eggs, and it was a done deal. Not only did Susie donate her eggs, but she has spend the last 3 months living with them and helping with the twins. 

With any one else in the world, the situation would complicate the relationships, but this family is just truly thankful to have these 2 beautiful babies in their lives. Though I am sure Susie will miss the twins when she goes back to her "real" life in New York this month, she knows she will always be a part of their lives as their special aunty Susie.
