Jonill and Colin - Three words to describe yourselves - "oldschool yet nontraditional and passionate"
We met Jonill and Colin in New York for their engagement session - and again... a freezing cold December day! We walked around the East Village until we could not longer take the cold and then ended the session at their local dive bar for a couple of photos and warming drinks!

Gen and Alex are getting married in La Jolla, CA - but are living in New York at the moment. It was great to be able to catch up with them in the city while we were there to do their engagement session. It was freezing cold, but they were such good sports about it - hopefully their fingers have regained some feeling since!

New York is such a multi-dimensional place; I still have trouble focusing on one particular aspect at a time (sorry for the image overload). Between the architectural three-dimensionality and added socio-economic layers, the city feels like some Orwellian experiment and is at once hectic and peaceful, maker of dreams or destroyer of hope...truly unlike any city I've known. Add to that the holidays, a small child, lights galore and you have a whole different experience altogether.

Hey, that's me!

We photographed Susie, Drew, Jerry, and the twins... Sutton and Bennett in their home in West Hollywood. Drew hired us as a present for his sister, Susie - to capture her with the twins in their "natural" environment - to thank her for everything she has done.

They have a very interesting and special story. When Drew and Jerry started going through the process of finding an egg donor, it became very frustrating as things started falling through. Out of the blue, Susie rang and said, of course I am donating the eggs, and it was a done deal. Not only did Susie donate her eggs, but she has spend the last 3 months living with them and helping with the twins.
With any one else in the world, the situation would complicate the relationships, but this family is just truly thankful to have these 2 beautiful babies in their lives. Though I am sure Susie will miss the twins when she goes back to her "real" life in New York this month, she knows she will always be a part of their lives as their special aunty Susie.

I met Jennifer and Eric under the Coronado Bridge on their weekend trip out from Arizona. They got in engaged at the Hotel Del Coronado - so it was a special place for them. They are, officially, the tallest couple I have ever photographed... Eric being 6'8" and Jennifer about 5'9"!

Yvonne and Sam are actually from down south, but they were keen to get their engagement session in San Francisco. Sam is a bit of a photographer himself, and brought his Leica along. I have to say, getting photos taken of us on an engagement session was different... but fun....

When James and Sophia suggested we go to the Montgomery Bart Station to take photos of them while they busked, I thought it was a great idea! It never occurred to me, however, that they might actually be really really good! It took a little persuading on James' part to get Sophia to sing with him, but when she did... wow! I was seriously impressed (as was the passing crowd, they got quite a few fans and even made $5!)
